What We Do

Life can be challenging and we all have our ups and downs.  At times, it can be difficult to move past what is getting in our way of our happiness in order to be our true selves. There is nothing like having an objective outsider that can truly listen in a non-judgmental way, help you to reflect on  the situation and factors that may be contributing, and together come up with strategies  which can allow you to move forward in a more thoughtful and meaningful way.  We are here to be that person for you.

We use an interactive, ecclectic relational approach where we are here to listen, but additionally we have a dialogue in which we provide feedback. Our individualized approach is specific to each person we work with, depending on what you are looking to achieve. We are always training in evidence-based practices to meet our clients' needs.

We work with adolescents and adults as individuals, couples, and families collaboratively to achieve the goals that you have set forth in the beginning of the therapeutic process. Depending on what these goals are, the therapy can be brief and solution focused, or more psychodynamic-oriented and longer term.

My name is Nicole Wegweiser and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  I received my Bachelors of Arts from Connecticut College in 2000 with a double major in Psychology and Dance in 2000.  After living in NYC and waiting tables and dancing professionally, and a brief stent in publishing marketing, I went to graduate school and received my Masters in Social Work from Fordham University in 2008.  After graduating, I completed a one year post-masters certification in working with eating disorders and body image issues through the Women's Therapy Centre Institute in NYC.  After jobs in a variety of social work settings which include mental health clinics, schools, and a child protection evaluation center, in both NYC and NJ, I followed my dreams and opened my private psychotherapy practice in 2016.
I am trained in the following modalities and utilize these modalities during my psychotherapy sessions with clients whenever appropriate.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Eriksonian Hypnosis
  • Psychodrama
  • Imago Couples Therapy
I am an Imago Couples Certified Therapist as well as an ASCH (American Society of Clinical Hypnosis) Certified Hypnotherapist. I have completed three years of attendance to a weekly training group to become a Certified Psychodramist at Psychodrama New Jersey, and am currently attending my fourth year of training. I completed my training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in 2017.   In addition to being a therapist, I am a wife, and a mother to two children.

Katarina Grimaldi, LSW

My name is Katarina Grimaldi and I am a Licensed Social Worker. I received my Masters of Social Work from Monmouth University in 2020 and my Bachelors in Social Work in 2019, with a concentration in clinical practice. Throughout my academic career, I completed student internships in the field areas of an out-patient psychotherapy practice, a hospital’s in-patient psychiatric unit, and a Monmouth County elementary school, while gaining substantial clinical and advocacy experience with school-age, early adult, and adult populations.

Some therapeutic modalities and treatment models I utilize are: Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Theory, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Person-Centered Approach, all of which put an individual at the center of the helping process. Throughout the therapeutic journey, I believe in always offering a positive regard to my clients and working compassionately alongside of them, in order for them to grow and to fulfill their own potential as individuals, while they end up valuing themselves and their lives.
